If You Want Results, You Need Clear Choices (Why I’m Not Promoting Black Friday Specials)
Nov 27, 2025Right now, huge sale events are happening across many countries. Extra discounts. Flash deals. Promises of savings. The underlying message is simple: buy more stuff.
Meanwhile, the world is experiencing unprecedented environmental shifts. Today, where I am, the temperature sits nine degrees above average. Elsewhere, severe flooding is destroying homes and livelihoods. Something feels out of balance—an ever-growing appetite for consumption contrasting sharply with the urgent need to tread more lightly on the planet.
And that imbalance isn’t just global. It shows up in our bodies too.
Consumption, Complacency, and Our Bodies
Our own movement, posture, and wellbeing often mirror how we move through the world at large. Overconsumption and complacency can leave the body less functional and more vulnerable. The antidote is not restriction for its own sake—it’s appropriate action.
When it’s hot, we adjust our effort.
When it’s cold, we warm up more intentionally.
We balance strength with mobility.
We adapt to our needs, our age, our abilities.
Caring for the environment isn’t so different. Reduce pollutants and toxins where possible. Cultivate habits that support a healthier ecosystem. Make choices that consider not only the immediate effect but the long-term impact.
Yet, when it comes to all our “stuff,” the old wisdom of reduce, reuse, recycle receives far less attention than marketing claims about “eco-friendly materials.” Even when made with slightly better materials, more stuff is still more stuff.
Why I Chose Not to Create Physical Products
When I first began offering courses, the standard was physical: DVDs, CDs, printed manuals, glossy books. Entire shelves—mine included—were filled with them. Each required production, packaging, and global shipping.
That never felt aligned with the intention behind teaching yoga and movement anatomy.
So I made a clear choice: my courses would exist only in digital form.
No manufacturing. No shipping. No extra weight to carry when you move or travel.
Digital learning also makes your practice more accessible—you can revisit your course materials anytime. They don’t expire. They don’t wear out. They don’t take up space on a shelf or require replacement down the line.
Mindfulness Extends Beyond the Mat
Being mindful in practice means forming healthy patterns, avoiding unnecessary strain, and learning how to adjust with awareness. Extending that mindfulness outward—to the way we consume, the products we choose, and the environmental impact we create—feels like a natural progression.
Both our bodies and the world around us are in constant motion. Our strength lies in our ability to adapt. The more we understand our capabilities and how different parts of the body interact, the more easeful our movement becomes—on the mat and in daily life.
That’s the intention behind The AnatomyShow courses: to help you understand your body in movement and posture so you can enjoy a more informed, more embodied life.
Choosing the Path With the Least Environment Impact
I wholeheartedly support digital learning where it’s appropriate and impactful. It reduces material waste, lowers environmental costs, and keeps your educational tools always within reach.
